BRIAN C. MILES

Founding Partner

Brian C. Miles graduated from the California State University, Northridge and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1991. From 1992 to 1997, Mr. Miles was a Legislative Aide to Assemblyman Curtis R. Tucker, Jr. who represented the 51st Assembly District. Mr. Miles then served as District Director from 1997 to 2001 for United States Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald (deceased) who represented the 37th Congressional District.

 

He obtained a Juris Doctor Degree from Western State University College of Law in 2000, after which he was admitted to the California State Bar as an Attorney and Counselor at Law in 2001. He is also licensed to practice before the United States District Court for the Central District of California, Southern District of California, Eastern District of California and Northern District of California.

 

Mr. Miles began his legal career as a sole practitioner in 2001, focusing on the areas of bankruptcy, probate, family and criminal law. He partnered with Cornell L. Hatcher in 2002 and founded the Law Office of Miles & Hatcher LLP. Since the establishment of the firm, Mr. Miles has focused his practice on the areas of Estate Planning, Family Law, Criminal Law, Bankruptcy, Probate, Personal Injury and Civil Litigation.

 

From simple wills and basic trusts, to sophisticated tax-saving trusts and charitable remainder trusts, Mr. Miles and his team provide reliable assistance to clients in estate planning and estate administration.  Mr. Miles represents high net worth clients, entrepreneurs, owners of closely held businesses and clients who require sophisticated legal strategies. His estate planning services range from tax minimization and wealth preservation to laying the groundwork for smooth business succession, and arranging contingency plans for medical and financial decision-making.

BRIA A. MILES

Associate

Bria A. Miles graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 2015.  From 2014 to 2016 she worked as an independent licensed life and health insurance agent.  In 2016, she began her legal career working as a paralegal at the Law Offices of Miles & Hatcher, LLP.


Ms. Miles continued to receive experience and training as a Law Clerk at Miles & Hatcher, LLP while receiving her legal education.  In 2019, she received her Juris Doctor from the University of La Verne, College of Law. After which she was admitted to the California State Bar as an Attorney and Counselor at Law.  Ms. Miles is now an Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Miles & Hatcher, LLP and her areas of practice are Probate and Estate Planning. Ms. Miles has a passion for providing the public with the knowledge of the importance of estate planning and the risks many people unfortunately face when they fail to plan. 


During her free time, Ms. Miles enjoys spending time with her husband, their three dogs, and their big family. She also enjoys reading, cooking, making natural wellness remedies and decompressing with Pilates. 

CLINT D. JONES

Associate

Clint Jones is an attorney in our trusts and estates, real estate, and business and finance practice groups. In his practice, Clint works closely with clients regarding probate, estate planning, business succession planning, and the administration of trusts and estates. He also works with individuals and businesses regarding entity formation, contract negotiations, real estate and transactions.

Clint attended undergrad at the California State Polytechnic University of Pomona, where he graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration. Clint attended law school and received his Juris Doctor from Chapman Universities, Dale E. Fowler School of Law. While at Fowler, Clint served as President of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and as a staff editor for the Diversity and Social Justice Forum (DSJ). Clint also was awarded the Jane Taylor Kacer Award, which is presented to the graduating student who has made significant contributions to further a diverse and inclusive environment at the Fowler School of Law. While in law school Clint externed with the firm as a Certified Law Clerk.

 

Clint’s knowledge of business banking and law has allowed him to provide services for his clients with a perspective that few other attorneys can offer. Prior to attending law school and joining the firm in 2022, Clint had a successful career in commercial business banking as an Assistant Vice President for almost ten years, however his passion for rational, critical and analytic thinking eventually led him to the legal profession. The combination of careers in both law and business banking has served him well as he is able to use his unique combination of core competencies in formulating effective strategies for basic and complex legal issues involving estate planning, asset protection, real estate, business law, trust administration, and probate.

 

Outside of work, Clint enjoys spending time with his family, his wife and their two dogs, watching sports, reading, and exploring the outdoors. Clint also participates in various community-based organizations such as Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., and 100 Black Men of America.

CORNELL L. HATCHER

Founding Partner

Cornell L. Hatcher grew up in Diamond Bar, California. He started his college education at West Point, the United States Military Academy. He later transferred to Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge Louisiana, where he played football for the Jaguars and was also a captain and a three-year starter.

 

In 1992, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. He obtained a Juris Doctor Degree from Western State University College of Law in 2000 and was admitted to the California State Bar in 2001. He is also licensed to practice before the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

 

Mr. Hatcher started his legal career as a Law Clerk in a family law firm in San Bernardino, CA. On passing the bar in 2001, he became a staff attorney with the same firm, where he worked until 2002. Mr. Hatcher then partnered with Brian C. Miles to form the Law Office of Miles & Hatcher LLP. Since then, the firm has focused the practice on the areas of Family Law, Criminal Law, Bankruptcy, Probate, Personal Injury, and Civil Litigation.

CHRISTA M. MILES

Associate

Christa Michelle Miles is an Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Miles & Hatcher, LLP.  Prior to pursuing a career in law, Christa studied Radiologic Technology in her undergraduate studies and has almost 15 years of experience in the medical field.  Her real-world experience includes helping others in their time of need and uncertainty and providing them support and guidance along the way. 

 

After experiencing the “client” side of family law and having a dedicated attorney on her side, Christa was inspired to become an attorney so that she could help people in the same caring, competent, and impactful manner.  She managed her large family and maintained full-time employment while simultaneously excelling in her academic endeavors in legal studies. 

 

In 2018, Christa earned a Juris Doctor from the University of La Verne, College of Law, and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2019.  With a background built on the foundation of administrative leadership, clinical experience, and integrity, Christa cares about her clients and her mission is to provide reputable legal services.
